Please excuse me while I do the most!
What is a Black Girl with Tools?
She’s a lady who can do just about anything; if she can’t, she’s trying to figure it out. Her “tools” aren’t just hammers and shovels. They are whatever she uses to do the things she wants, has, and likes to do. Her voice, mind, hands, camera, stove, anything can be her tool!

My Tools
Sometimes a hammer isn’t enough!

There’s nothing like backyard grocery shopping! What started as a joke and four small containers have turned into more than 150 sq ft of growing space and a greenhouse affectionately known as the Pineapple Palace! Gardening isn’t something I ever thought I would love, let alone try. It’s my safe space, my happy place, and my favorite thing to share.
I’m passionate about sharing the power of growing your own food!

Finding my next “gig” has always been tricky. I spent a long time walking down a path I never wanted to be on. After leaving classroom teaching in 2019, I found myself looking for what I wanted to do instead of what I had to do. In the summer of 2020, I found myself in the DMs of a local magazine offering my services as a researcher. Those DMs have led me to many projects, podcasts, articles, and panel discussions. Eventually, I was privileged to work on a research team who searched for descendants of the 1906 Atlanta Race Massacre and as a researcher for a Civil War documentary.
I’m passionate about finding people, documenting their stories, and telling uncomfortable truths from American History.

Let’s talk about “it,” and by it, I mean anything! After a couple of years of discussing politics and local municipal issues on podcasts and the radio, I decided to pivot. The pendulum swung from the journey of mayoral candidates to my own in therapy. What’s been better? Podcast was a two-season show following my path to finding peace with the guidance of my actual therapist.
I’m passionate about connecting with others to discuss any and every topic, from life’s challenges to current events in the news!

I swear I heard “We can buy the furniture” the first time my husband suggested making nightstands for our bedroom. Little did he know that he was creating a monster. Give me a problem, a few scraps of wood, a drill, or a hammer, and you never know what I’ll do! Anything is possible with the right tools, from desks and storage units to armoires and garden beds!
I’m passionate about crafting, creating, and DIYing my way to a better life. Built not bought!

Acrylic pour painting started as a part of our healing journey after our dog’s sudden and unexpected death. I also enjoy graphic design, jewelry making, photography, handmade decor, and crocheting.
I’m passionate about creative, performing, and fiber arts.
